Places to go, people to see

I knew one day it would happen, but wow, it sneaks up on you. Every morning, after I feed Will, I put him on his blanket on the floor with all of his toys while I toast my bagel. This morning was no different. I was in the kitchen and I feel something hit my leg. Thinking it was the cat, I look down and see Will! He had followed me into the kitchen! He has been doing his version of crawling for a while now, but has never really gone more than a couple of feet at a time. His version of crawling is quite funny, its actually called creeping (I read a few articles on crawling when he was first starting and this is a version of it). He stays on his belly and does the army crawl with his arms. One arm does more work than the other while the opposite leg pushes him. The other leg just drags behind and does nothing. I thought something was wrong with his leg, but it turns out its just one way of crawling. Its very silly, but man, can the boy move when he wants to. Baby proofing aisle here I come!

When teething goes bad....

I guess someone, in the middle of the night, decided that arms make great chew toys. Not my idea of a teether, but to each his own.

Livin' on the edge!

As you can see Will is on the verge of crawling. He gets up on all 4 and just rocks back and forward. He even gets his arms going OR his legs going. We haven't figured out that we need to do both at once. So he belly flops a lot. When he actually gets all appendages moving, he somehow ends up going backwards. Haven't figured that out yet. He is not very happy about learning to crawl, he just wants to walk. Every time I try to get him to crawl, he rolls over, grabs my hands, pulls up, and tries to walk off. He usually screams if I try to get him to do it again. He does great with walking as long as he holds on to my fingers. He barely even supports himself on my hands, just as a safety. He sometimes tries to go quicker than his little feet can keep up. He tries to let go, but ends up falling. He would spend all day walking around the house if I would let him, but its a little hard on the back, leaning over for him to hold my hands. I heard somewhere that they should learn to crawl before walking. Something about coordination later in life, but I don't know if I believe it. People are super opinionated about it. Its quite funny. We'll just see what he does.
Sorry we haven't updated in a while. It's been a crazy busy month. I promise to try and be better. Have a great rest of the week; the weekend cannot come quickly enough!
