And the work begins.....

Today we finally received Matt's orders. He had gotten them on Tuesday, but those weren't right. We got it all worked out and the final ones are here. Now all the work begins. We have talked to Realtors about our house here and are going to get the move set up in the next few days. It looks like we are going to be moving in November. We don't really know exact dates. We are going to be really busy, so if we don't update that often, I'm sorry. I will try my best.

Waiting is the name of the game

We were suppose to receive Matt's orders either today or yesterday. Well, we found out that there is going to be a delay in getting them. I was told that its common for this to happen in this type of deployment. What does it mean? Nothing in the big scheme of things, Matt will still go to training in November and Afghanistan in February. We are just put in a pinch because without the orders we cannot set up our move, and without knowing when the move is going to take place, we can't put our house on the market. So, we are going to have less time to get all this done. The only thing we can do now is get our house ready to sell, and I have been working on that all week (cleaning out closets is fun!). That is pretty much all we know as of today. If we find out anything else, we will let you know.

Join the Navy, See the World!

Well it looks like it is finally time for me to adventure out and see the world. We don't know a lot of details yet but we will keep everyone updated as things develop. What we do know is that I'll be moving to Norfolk, VA in November for training and then departing for Afghanistan in February '08. I'll be in Afghanistan for a full year and should return to the States in February '09. Lindsay and Will are going to move back to Little Rock sometime in November to spend the year there.

We both knew this would be happening soon so it isn't a shock to us by any means. I'm pretty excited about the work I'll be doing over there and I'm sure Lindsay is going to enjoy being closer to all of our family and friends.

More updates will come as news becomes available.

I am my father's son

Why does this picture scare me? Is it because he took to online gaming so quickly? Granted, its the Elmo game and what kid can resist, but it had to be something past down through the blood. So scary.

Will wanted to say hello

We have had the video camera for a while now, but we lost the software to upload it. Needless to say, we found it. Now that I am learning how to do all this, I will have to put some of Will's new "tricks" up for you to see, but today, we just wanted to say hello.

(excuse the shaky camera - I was sitting on the floor, holding the camera, while Will was trying to climb on my lap - the boy loves to climb)

Eat, Drink, and Sleep construction.....

I don't think so, but with Matt's job, its a big part of his life. So, Will wanted to show his support with construction trucks on his pj's. He has only been wearing big boy pj's for a couple of weeks now and he just looks so cute in them. My boys, I love them!

I'm pretty sure we like Sesame Street

Don't worry, I didn't let him stay that close the whole time. I wish I caught his face in the picture, he was just smiling and laughing. Cookie Monster, Big Bird, and of coarse, Elmo are our favorites, but we love them all.
